The Borders Railway Community Partnership, or ‘BRCP’, is one of several Community Rail Partnerships in Scotland, and there are nearly 60 of them throughout the UK, supported by a national association.
Borders Railway Community Partnership
The Borders Railway Community Partnership – ‘BRCP’ – was established when the Borders Railway reopened in 2015. The Partnership works to build connections between ScotRail who run the trains and the communities along the length of the line between Edinburgh and Tweedbank, to enhance the potential and benefits of the Railway for everyone.
The BRCP consists of organisations and individuals who are interested in developing the full potential of the Borders Railway, with its aims and projects being implemented by a small steering group. Everyone in the BRCP is a volunteer, contributing their time and expertise for the benefit of all.

About the BRCP
There are Community Rail Partnerships (CRPs) all over the UK, set up to foster the relationship between a railway and the communities it serves, and bringing together a wide range of interests along a rail corridor.
The Borders Railway
The old ‘Waverley Line’ from Edinburgh to Carlisle was axed in 1969. The northern section was restored and trains began running on the UK’s newest railway in 2015, once again connecting Edinburgh with bustling Midlothian and Scotland’s beautiful Border country.
